Mini Doll Wigs
Introduction
Bringing my most popular doll accessory pattern to you, for free!! Three unique and adorable wig patterns for the mini doll. These wigs add personality to the dolls, and there are so many ways to customize them!
Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Materials
• Cotton Thread, Size 10
• Wig Cap: 1 ball of thread (in same color as doll’s head)
• Hair: 1 ball of thread (in hair color of your choice)
• Crochet Hook Size: 1.5mm
• Cotton Darning Needle or Crewel needle
• 4 sewing pins
• Scissors
Gauge
There is no gauge for this pattern, however, here are some gauge tips.
• Stitching too tightly can result in a smaller product and/or difficulty
inserting the hook for stitching.
• Stitching too loosely can result in a larger, less structured product.
• Maintain consistent tension throughout for a uniform look.

Important notes: *This pattern is worked in two parts*
1. Crochet a mesh wig cap, in the same color of your doll’s head. You
may opt to use the same color as the hair instead.
2. Using the front posts of the mesh wig cap, crochet your doll’s hair in
the color(s) of your choice. The wig can then be sewn directly to the
doll’s head.
Images above are shown as an example. It is recommended that you use the same color
thread as your doll’s head for the wig cap.
Mesh Wig Cap
Note: Ch 3 and ch 2 count as (dc, ch1)
1. MC, ch 3, (dc, ch 1) 5 times, slst to join ITR. (12)
2. Ch 3, (dc, ch 1) in each st and ch1-sp, slst. (24)
3. Ch 3, (dc, ch 1) in each st and ch1-sp, slst. (48)
4. Ch 3, (dc, ch 1) in each st, slst. (48)
5. Ch 3, (dc, ch 1) fifteen times, tw. You will now work flat. (32)
6. Ch 2, sk 1, (dc, ch 1) in each st, tw. (32)
7. Repeat step 6, three more times.
8. Ch 1, sk 1, dc across. No chains between dc stitches for this row.
9. Cut a 12-inch tail which will be used to sew the wig cap to your doll’s
head at the end.
Part 2
Hair Installation
There are a lot of options for customization of the color, length, and volume
of the hair. The first two styles are voluminous, and the third style is a lighter,
less voluminous option.
Style 1
Using the mesh wig cap you created, and your thread in the color you chose
for hair, please follow the steps below. Hair is installed from the bottom to
the top of the wig cap.
1. Slip knot, fpslst first dc post on the bottom right corner of your mesh
wig cap, ch 21, tw, sc across, ch 1.
2. Fpslst the next dc post ch 21, tw, sc across, ch 1.
3. Repeat step 2 for ALL dc posts in the wig cap
4. Cut your thread and weave it through to the inside of the wig cap.
5. Position the wig on your doll’s head, keep it in place with sewing pins.
Sew the wig cap to your doll’s head.
Style 2
1. Slip knot, fpslst first dc post on the bottom right corner of your mesh
wig cap, ch 11, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across.
2. *Fpslst next dc post, ch 11, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across, rep from * to EOR.
3. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 13, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across.
4. *Fpslst next dc post, ch 13, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across, rep from * to EOR.
5. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 15, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across.
6. *Fpslst next dc post, ch 15, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across, rep from * to EOR.
7. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 17, (sc, 2 sc inc) across.
8. *Fpslst next dc post, ch 17, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across, rep from * to EOR.
9. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 19, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across.
10. *Fpslst next dc post, ch 19, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across, rep from * to EOR.
11. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 21, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across.
12. *Fpslst next dc post, ch 21, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across, rep from * to EOR.
13. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 23, then (sc, 2 sc inc) across.
14. *Fpslst next dc post, ch 23, tw, (sc, 2 sc inc) across, rep from * to EOR.
15. Repeat steps 13 and 14 for every round at the top of the wig cap.
16. Cut your thread and weave it through to the inside of the wig cap.
17. Position the wig on your doll’s head, keep it in place with sewing pins.
Sew the wig cap to your doll’s head.
Style 3
1. Slip knot. Fpslst first dc post on the bottom right corner of your mesh
wig cap, ch 11, tw, sc across.
2. Fpslst next dc post, ch 1, fpslst next dc post ch 11, tw, sc across.
3. Rep step 2 to EOR.
4. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 13, tw, sc across.
5. Fpslst next dc post, ch 1, fpslst next dc post, ch 13, tw, sc across.
6. Rep step 5 to EOR.
7. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 15, tw, sc across.
8. Fpslst next dc post, ch 1, fpslst next dc post, ch 15, tw, sc across.
9. Rep step 8 to EOR.
10. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 17, tw, sc across.
11. Fpslst next dc post, ch 1, fpslst next dc post, ch 17, tw, sc across.
12. Rep step 11 to EOR.
13. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 19, tw, sc across.
14. Fpslst next dc post, ch 1, fpslst next dc post, ch 19, tw, sc across.
15. Rep step 14 to EOR.
16. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 21, tw, sc across.
17. Fpslst next dc post, ch 1, fpslst next dc post, ch 21, tw, sc across.
18. Rep step 17 to EOR.
19. Fpslst the dc post above, ch 23, tw, sc across.
20. Fpslst next dc post, ch 1, fpslst next dc post, ch 23, tw, sc across.
21. Rep step 20 for all rem dc posts.
22. Cut your thread and weave it through to the inside of the wig cap.
23. Position the wig on your doll’s head, keep it in place with sewing pins.
Sew the wig cap to your doll’s head.
Alternative Hair Types
The first hair type pattern uses option 3, all single crochet. The second hair
type pattern uses option 1, alternating single crochet and single crochet 2 in
one stitch. The third hair type pattern uses option 3, all single crochet. Here
are a few different options for hair type you can use. All hair examples below
began with ch 30.
